Group piano for 2020 / 2021
Where will lessons take place?
Group piano lessons will take place in Ardclough Village Centre, Ardclough, Co. Kildare. These piano lessons will benefit students in the Celbridge, Straffan, Newcastle and Kill areas and all are welcome to enquire.
What is the cost to participate in a group lesson?
The fee is €15 per student for a 45 minute lesson and this is payable on a monthly basis.
Who can take lessons?
The actual allocation of group lessons will depend on demand but anyone of any age is welcome to avail of lessons. It’s never too late to begin!
How do group piano lessons work?
The lessons will be matched according to age and ability. Then, once tuition commences, students will attend on a weekly basis with the aim of learning to read sheet music. The class will last for 45 minutes, during which time you’ll be given instruction from a book with intervals to practice on the piano using headphones. Paul teaches using a ‘classical’ method with the aim to perform in a variety of popular styles on the instrument. Digital pianos are provided so no need to bring along your own.
Are group lessons better than individual lessons?
Both have their advantages. Group lessons offer a sense of camaraderie and sociability to the learning of piano. This can be highly motivating for children and adults alike. One of the biggest barriers to piano is the sheer amount of hard practice it takes to reach a good level of proficiency at it. Group lessons are ideal for students who are beginning their journey on piano and who want to really enjoy the learning process. Individual piano lessons can better suit more advanced grades/experience although this isn’t a hard and fast rule.
